Amy Ludwig VanDerwater is author of children’s books including FOREST HAS A SONG (Clarion), EVERY DAY BIRDS (Scholastic), READ! READ! READ! (forthcoming, WordSong), DREAMING OF YOU (forthcoming, Boyds Mills Press) and WITH MY HANDS: POEMS ABOUT MAKING THINGS (forthcoming, Clarion). She is also author of POEMS ARE TEACHERS: HOW STUDYING POETRY STRENGTHENS WRITING IN ALL GENRES (forthcoming, Heinemann) and co-author, with Lucy Calkins and Stephanie Parsons, of POETRY: BIG THOUGHTS IN SMALL PACKAGES (Heinemann).
