I approach every new book as if it were my first. Writing and illustrating children’s books is a constant learning process. Writing a meaningful story using just a few words is deceptively difficult. And every new illustration presents challenges that I have never encountered before. An illustration can take up to two weeks to finish, but creating new characters can take much longer. I spent four years in art school as a painting major. Now I try my best to make an art of illustration.
