Joan Foley Baier has had several short stories published in children’s magazines and was a technical writer for Eastman Kodak Company. During her career at Kodak, she was on the Board of Directors of Rochester’s CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) and was for one term Program Director of Rochester’s branch of Society for Technical Communication. She has a mid-grades book, Luvella's Promise, and historical YA fiction, The Heartbeat of the Mountain and Prison Break, based on Auburn Prison’s July 1929 prison riot.
