KEELY HUTTON

Keely Hutton is a MG and YA children’s book author. Her debut novel, Soldier Boy was honored with a 2018 Children’s Africana Book Award and named a 2017 top ten first novel and 2018 top ten historical novel for youth by Booklist. Her second novel, Secret Soldiers, was a 2020 Bank Street Best Children's Book of the Year and 2020 Children's Book Council Notable Social Studies Book for Young People. Don’t Look Back, a YA memoir she co-authored with Achut Deng, will be available in October 2022. Keely lives in Rochester, NY with her husband, two sons, and dog, Maximus.
