Laurie Calkhoven has always loved books and reading. When she was little, she wanted to live at the library. Later she decided to become one of the people who created the books on the library shelves. Laurie has written historical novels (the Boys of Wartime series and G.I. Dogs) and many works of nonfiction. Her most recent biographies include DK Life Stories: Martin Luther King, Jr. and You Should Meet Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She lives in New York City and can frequently be found at the library.
