And the RCBF Appreciation Award Goes To...

The 21st Annual Rochester Children’s Book Festival this past Saturday was a huge success, with thousands of book-lovers flocking to Monroe Community College for the big event. To kick off the day, we presented our first-ever RCBF Appreciation Awards to two very special sponsors.

MCC and 292-Baby have given our book festival, which had to travel from library to library for its first seven years, a home here at MCC since 2004. Back then, Jim Coffey, who is the founder of 292-Baby and a faculty member at MCC, recognized the RCBF’s role in promoting early literacy in Rochester. He approached the College’s leadership on our behalf, and MCC agreed to partner with us—a partnership that has allowed our little festival to grow into an award-winning, nationally recognized event. Both 292-Baby and MCC have been our hosting sponsors ever since, and we cannot thank them enough for giving the RCBF a space to grow and thrive.
