Kevin Kurtz is an award-winning nonfiction children's author with over 27 published books about science and nature. He has worked with scientists on a marine biology research ship, on the R/V JOIDES Resolution as it studied underwater volcanoes, and on an expedition that studied the crater that was left behind by the asteroid impact that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. He continues to write books and visit schools around the country to introduce children to the wonders of reading, writing, science, and nature.
