author/illustrator

It all started on my son’s third birthday. I was reading Alexander and the Wind-up Mouse, by Leo Lionni, to Ben for the first time when I realized that I, too, had to write and illustrate children’s books. It was one of those once-in-a-lifetime inspirations that has kept me going all these years. It wasn’t easy. My first completed book was never published, but an editor at Doubleday liked the art and asked to see more. I showed her my next idea, Brunus and the New Bear, which was published when my son was six. The rest is history.
