Rochester Hits the Jackpot of Children's Writers & Illustrators

We’re lucky to live in a town that is home to such a wealth of children’s authors and illustrators. In fact, nineteen of this year’s RCBF participants are members of RACWI (Rochester Area Children’s Writers & Illustrators), the organization that puts on the festival.

From Vivian Vande Velde, RCBF founder and recipient of the Empire State Award for Excellence in Literature for Young People, to Linda Sue Park, Newbery Medalist and bestselling author, Rochester offers a distinguished line-up.

If you’re looking for non-fiction, local authors Kevin Kurtz, Rose O’Keefe, Andrea Page, and Peggy Thomas aim to please.

In the historical fiction category, Kathy Blasi, Sue Beckhorn, Elizabeth Falk, Marsha Hayles, Keely Hutton, and Sally Valentine are stand-outs.

For picture books, check out MJ & Herm Auch, Joy Keller, Mylisa Larsen, Robin Pulver, and Ellen Stoll Walsh.

And if novels are your passion, look no further than Wendy Dunham, Will Hubbell, and Jeff Minerd, Linda Sue Park, and Vivian Vande Velde.

The RCBF will also feature more than two dozen wonderful out-of-town authors. Please check www.rcbfest.com for the full list of authors and illustrators. We look forward to seeing you at the Festival on November 4th!
